Japan eShop account have a lot of exclusive Switch games. By changing your region to Japan you can access those exclusive contents. Moreover, you may find the same game but have a cheaper price in Japan eShop.
How to get a Japan eShop account for Switch?
You can choose either create a new user via Nintendo official site or on the Switch. Below is a step by step method on creating a new user via Nintendo official site then link it to your Switch account as a 2nd user profile.
1.Firstly register via Nintendo official site. You don’t need a Japan IP during the whole process.
2.Choose age 13 or older as you need a minimum age of 18 to use the eShop service.
3.Choose and fill-in a NickName and Email Address, and you must select Japan as Region. Don’t forget your birthday need to show you are age 18 or older.
4.Then you will get a verification code which sent from Nintendo. Open your email and find the verification code.
5.Created a new user successfully! Now turn on your Switch!
6.Click User > Add User > Create New
7.Enter a desire User Name > Choose “Link a Nintendo Account”
8.Sign in using the email address you created in step 3
9.In the next screen select Link > OK and Done
*The screen will display in Japanese, the first time entering eShop you need to input your password to confirm your identity. This account will listed as a 2nd profile in your switch. To go back to your region just select the 1st profile.
